Young people can access a sexual health clinic (or “GUM”) confidentially. Your closest GUM clinic can offer testing for STIs including HIV. Health advisers can also offer confidential support and advice to young people about treatment and testing for STIs.
Sexwise is a free helpline for young people aged 12-18 that offers advice and guidance on all sorts of sexuality and sexual health issues, including contraception, abortion, relationships and pregnancy. Call 0800 28 29 30 from 7am-midnight, seven days a week from anywhere in the UK.
Sexwise also has a website that gives information on contraception, sex and relationships.
If you are 11-15 years old then check out 'Like it is' which provides advice on issues such as contraception, periods, teenage pregnancy, sex and sexuality.
The only national voluntary sector provider of free and confidential sexual health advice and services is Brook. Their website is specifically for young people under the age of 25.
Family Planning Association (fpa) provides confidential information and advice on contraception and sexual and reproductive health. You can also get details of family planning clinics, sexual health clinics and other sexual health services anywhere in the UK.
